Curved Conveyors

Curved Conveyors are used in order to connect In-line Conveyors which meet at an angle. We have developed a special tapered Modular Belt for use on these Curved Conveyors. The Curved Conveyors are manufactured in different widths and inside radius to accommodate the specific product application. These Conveyors use both industrial (nylon glass filled belt) and food grade (polypropylene belt). As a standard we manufacture Curved Conveyors in 90° angles and belt widths between 200mm and 1 600mm, with inside radius starting at 600mm. These Conveyors can however, also be supplied with angles between 15° and 180°. The length of the belt is dictated by the angle of the curve. The use of these Curved Conveyors assures that the product is true conveyed, that means, as it is received, so it will be dispatched. The use of these Curved Conveyors reduces blockages and transfer problems commonly associated when attempting to move a product from one conveyor to the next.

Two drives types are offered, a foot-mounted geared motor with a linking chain drive to the axle; alternatively, a direct shaft-mounted geared motor may be used. For high loads a drive sprocket every 50mm on the axle is used. Standard are sprockets every 100mm. The sprockets are identified by their relative radius according to the conveyor size. On low load applications a jump drive using a sprocket and chain from one conveyor to the next conveyor may be used, thereby reducing the amount of gearboxes required. The low friction coefficient between belt and support (0.4mm for slider beds and 0.2mm for roller beds) reduces the driving force required. These conveyors can be manufactured in mild steel or stainless steel with all components manufactured in either of the steel applications.
